Hi there!  First of all, a huge thank you for visiting my justgiving page. On Sunday 17th April, i'll be running the London Marathon. The reason im putting my lardy lazy body and indeed the poor pavements of London through this ordeal, is to help raise money for Marie Curie.  As most of you will know, this is an amazing charity that gives care & support to terminally ill people during the final days of their lives, whether it be at home or in one of their hospices.  At this profound time of a persons life, the care Marie Curie offers, allows the patient and their family to spend their last days with the peace, comfort and dignity that they so deserve. I visited one of the hospices in Edinburgh yesterday, I was fully expecting it to be a  frightening and clinical place with people speaking in hushed tones and was amazed to find the opposite. It was bright and comfortable and was actually filled with the sound of life and laughter.  As soon as I walked inside, I was greeted with smiling, welcoming faces and I felt 'safe'.  Im almost embarrassed to say this, but, that was such a relief for me, so I can only imagine how it must feel for the patients and their families. The staff are absolutely incredible and i feel very privileged to be running on their behalf. 

Now here comes the money bit....Marie Curie need to raise £9212 every hour of every day to survive. Now, i know im not going to be able to raise enough for an hour, but 5 minutes would be good!  These are very hard times, but i would be so grateful if you could sponsor me.  No matter how small, not only you will be helping this brilliant charity but I will also be forever in your debt.  Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and please look out for me on the telly....i'll be the sweaty one with the red face, crossing the line in the dark!
