On October 12th 2021 I was admitted to the RuH with sepsis, I was rushed to hospital and was put into an induced coma for 28 days. The team and doctors were fighting for my life. For about 3 weeks they couldn’t say wether I’d make it or not. My family had to carry on without me at home for almost 2 1/2 months, not knowing wether I would make it or not. I came back home from hospital just in time for Christmas. It turned out I had a rare type of cancer, a tumour in my bowels which exploded and caused the sepsis alongside another infection caught through undergoing ivf. Almost a year on, I am now fitter then I have been before. After the coma I had to learn to walk again and I was slowly regaining my strength.

Now I’m running almost every day and I can’t believe that I have ever been that poorly and not so long ago.

The doctors and nurses have saved my life so I’m running  and raising money for the RUHX.

Am 12.10.2021 wurde ich mit Sepsis ins Krankenhaus RUH Bath gebracht und für 28 Tage in ein künstliches Koma versetzt. Das Team und die Ärzte kämpften um mein Leben. Etwa 3 Wochen lang konnten sie nicht sagen, ob ich es schaffe oder nicht. Meine Familie musste fast 2 1/2 Monate ohne mich zu Hause weitermachen.

Vor Weihnachten kam ich aus dem Krankenhaus nach Hause. Es stellte sich heraus, dass ich eine seltene Art von Krebs hatte, ein Tumor in meinem Darm, der explodierte und die Sepsis verursachte.

 Fast ein Jahr später bin ich jetzt fitter als je zuvor. Nach dem Koma musste ich wieder laufen lernen und kam langsam wieder zu Kräften.

Jetzt laufe ich fast jeden Tag und kann nicht glauben, dass es mir mal so schlecht gehangen ist.

Die Ärzte und Krankenpfleger/innen haben mir das Leben gerettet.
