Story

Last year we raised over £8,000 for Cancer Research UK when I completed a Half Iron Man. This year I am cycling to Paris in 24 hours in memory of my friend, Neil Forbes, who died 8 months ago, of Type 2 Diabetes. He left a wife, Maria, and two young children - Geordie and Iso. He was 47 years old.

At Neil's funeral, it was requested that people leave donations to Diabetes UK, so this year I thought I would extend that invitation to a wider audience, with an aim of raising £10,000 (!!)

Having thought more about diabetes in recent months, I have learned that 3.7 million people suffer from this debilitating and life-threatening disease today, in the UK alone. That is forecast to rise to over 5 million in the next 7 years.

Thank you in advance for helping me raise what would be a great amount of a money - in memory of great friend, and for a great cause.
