Recently Robina and I returned from Japan having experienced first hand the aftermath of the earthquake. We spoke to journalists and local residents and were shocked by the extent of the devastation. The experience has driven us to try and make a difference with respect to the relief efforts already underway. Having a small family of our own our attention was drawn to the children who are suffering.
I have decided to take what I hope is an extraordinary step to raise awareness and a significant amount of money. On Friday 15 April I shaved my head to raise money for the Save the Children Emergency fund and The Kashima Kids Fund to help children in the earthquake effected areas of Japan. On the night we raised 6500 pounds with generous donations from the 80 people present. Thank you to all of you who have donated thus far. This site will stay open for another month to generate further funds.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save the Children gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
