Story
As some of you know Barbara and I have been volunteering at Central Valley Teen Challenge in Reedley since 2016, actually 5 years now. I have been on the Advisory Board and did teaching in 2017 and 2018. Barbara has been overseeing the donations which we call the Blessing Rooms. We both love this ministry and have known about it since it started in 1958 by David Wilkerson in New York City.
We now have over 200 campuses in the U.S. and over 1400 campuses in 129 countries. The courts are sending men, women and teens to this ministry. Please check out Central Valley Teen Challenge on Youtube. You can listen to some messages by David Wilkerson also. I love the one titled "The Cost of the Anointing".
It is so amazing to see the change in these adult men ages 18-70 at our campus who have been addicted to drugs and/or alcohol and many coming from gangs and prison. God is doing a major work in their lives. Like the Chief of Police in Selma said at one of our fundraising BBQ dinners, "Teen Challenge is the best Crime Prevention Program there is". There is no cost for men, women or teens in Southern California for this one year Bible based program. All support is by private donations, some businesses and some churches.
I'm walking to raise funds for Central Valley Teen Challenge in Reedley during September National Recovery Month. Funds raised through the Walk for Recovery will support the mission of Teen Challenge to bring hope and healing for these men caught in addiction. Please help me by supporting my campaign with a donation. I greatly appreciate your help and support!
May the Lord bless you! Thank you so much!
Jerry
