Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. In our lifetime, one in two of us will experience a mental health issue. But many are still left to deal with this alone. I am running the marathon to help support you, our families, our friends and perhaps even me one day, as the statistics suggest that someone close to you is or will be affected by mental health.

I am hoping to raise funds for a small independent mental health charity based in Croydon, South London called

Hear Us

Hear Us is a Mental Health Service User Group which supports services to people with severe and enduring mental health problems through a number of projects both in hospital settings and in the community. The charity also provides peer support to service users in helping to reduce poverty and debt, tackle housing needs and to reduce social exclusion and isolation amongst its vulnerable users.

if someone is suffering from a mental health issue and not receiving the correct treatment or help, the consequences can be tragic. Something I have experienced too often in my professional role. Sometimes those small independent charities, who work hard for others, need a helping hand themselves. Any donation you give, however big or small, would be most welcome.
