Jerry Sleeps Rough

I am spending a night sleeping rough for CEO Sleepout because far too often the homeless have no voice.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm sleeping rough on the 7th November for the YMCA Milton Keynes

YMCA MK is an independent charity and an approved social housing provider. They first opened their doors in 1980 and since then have helped over 10,000 young people. They offer accommodation, support, training and education to assist them get their lives back on track so they can go on to play a fulfilling role within the community.

At any one time YMCA-MK can be providing these service to over 500 young people. All who are in desperate need of assistance with accommodation to ensure they are safe, cared for and have access to the support that you and I take for granted.

In September 2019 YMCA - MK opens their new campus which will provide accommodation for another 199 residents. The new campus includes training rooms and will deliver the well-being and training programmes these people require.

My CEO sleepout goes just a small way to highlight the plight of these young people. I personally feel that the homeless community have little or no voice in our modern society. I wanted to do something that increases not only my awareness of what they have to go through just to survive, but also for my family, friends and the wider business community that I operate in to also have the opportunity to help.

If you can spare a little bit of cash in these difficult times then I will be most thankful. As you can see I have a fairly large target to hit but please read on, I have pledged that if I hit the £5,000 mark before the 1st November I will spend not 1 night living rough but the whole week! I think a £1,000 a night is a small price to pay to help the underprivileged youngsters of the local community!
