Story

I am taking part in the Big Walk for Water with CAFOD. I will be doing walks throughout Lent up until Easter Sunday (4 April) in aid of the charity's Lenten campaign.

Please sponsor me, do a walk with friends or if you live in Jersey, join me in a walk by messaging on Facebook to meet up. The more the merrier! (within government guidelines of course).

Your support for the Big Walk for Water will mean that I can help people like Abdella: Abdella is 23 and he has big dreams. He dreams of starting a small business, starting a family, of having his own home. He dreams of not having to walk for ten hours a day to get water. Abdella lives in Afar, Ethiopia one of the hottest places on earth. He spends most of a day getting water for his family to drink. On the days when he's too tired to walk, his brother goes. He knows that if there was water near his home, his family wouldn't have to worry about getting enough to stay alive. And he could start on the dreams he has for the rest of his life.

Your gift could buy:-

£20 - water containers for 2 families

£40 - safe drinking water for schools

£70 - help Abdella to start a small business

£200 - bicycles for a team of 3 water engineers to service water pumps in remote communities

Please give whatever you can and pray that the money raised this Lent will make a real difference to the people in the communities CAFOD works in. Thankyou
