I recently (16th February 2017) celebrated an anniversary that marks five years since the last time I self-harmed, which was also the 3rd and final time I attempted suicide after a long battle with self-harm and depression.
Thankfully, I didn't succeed. I am living, breathing proof that it does get better. I accepted that I wasn't okay, decided that I wanted to get help, and managed to build myself up and put the pieces back together. I'm so glad that I did. I am now half way through my degree, playing and succeeding in rugby, a sport I only took up recently, but above all... I AM HAPPY!
I'm now taking on the challenge of running my first ever 10k to try and raise as much money for this wonderful charity as possible! If I am able to help or inspire at least one person with my story then I've already succeeded, but raising my target would be the icing on the cake of a fantastic 5 happy years!
If you've read this far, I applaud you! If you can spare me some pennies it'd mean the world! Thank you x
