We have as a family, like many others, been shaken by cancer over the years. 2015 proved to be  particularly awful as we lost both our dad/granda Tommy and our husband/dad/granda & uncle Robbie. Also lost to cancer at the age of 47 was a dear friend Joanne Priest. Both Robbie and Joanne had May birthdays -the day of the race would've been Joanne's 48th.

These people were so very precious to us and we feel by running the race for life it is a small gesture to honour their memory and do our bit to help beat this awful disease.
