Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the Virtual Challenge for Meningitis. I will be walking (Round my garden) trying to walk 5 miles by the end of April, this doesn’t sound far but for me this will be a challenge as I’m still recovering but I’m hoping to achieve it.
I have recently battle Meningococcal Meningitis and Septicaemia and would like to give something back. Words can’t describe how awful this was and the impact it had on myself and my family. I was a healthy 18 year old and never imagined it would happen to me but it did. It all started with feeling rough and like I had been kicked in my joints and one small purple mark on my wrist, that looked like a blood blister. When my mum came home from work she knew something wasn’t right and then did the tumbler test on my wrist then took me to A&E where my condition went down hill very quickly and I ended up in an induced coma in intensive care. The ICU team were amazing ( that’s what my mum said as I was unconscious ) and all the other doctors and nurses were brilliant also. I am home now but still need time to recover and get myself back to were I was before this happened. I class myself as being very lucky as it was very serious and if you can give a small amount I would be grateful and mean everything to me and my family. I know times are hard at the minute and any donation would be truly grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Take care and stay safe.
