Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing the London Marathon to raise money and awareness of seeking a cure for Parkinsons Disease and specifically to raise money for Cure Parkinsons Trust.
This charitable trust was set up by a very good friend of my family, Tom Issacs, who was diagnosed with the condition when he was 27 putting a lie to the myth that it is an “old persons disease.” It is a very cruel, debilitating condition that affects every aspect of your life and makes everyday tasks we take for granted a significant challenge.
That said, since his diagnosis Tom led an extraordinary life and amongst many things (other than founding CPT) he found time to walk from John O’ Groats to Lands End and walk round the whole coastline of Britain during 2002/3. Sadly, Tom passed away in 2017 but his legacy lives on through Cure Parkinsons Trust.

Particularly at this time of the year (and for this event) there are many sponsorship requests for a range of fabulous charities and there is only a finite amount of money to donate to these great causes. If you are considering sponsoring me can I give you 3 final reasons:
- It is a great Charity proactively seeking a cure for a horrible disease;
- This is my first ever Marathon (and fund raising event) and is a very big challenge for me;
- You will have the satisfaction in knowing that I will be suffering an awful lot of pain!
Best wishes and thanks for your support,
Jessica
