Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In a moment of madness I agreed to run the London marathon! I'm raising money for the Wessex Medical Research Steve Mills fund. Steve Mills was my friends' (Lucy and Amy) dad and he died of leukaemia when they were both very young. He was a footballer at Southampton FC and set up The Steve Mills Stem Cell Laboratory before he died.
Since his death his family has worked so hard fund-raising for research into leukaemia and the charity has saved countless lives due to this research. Recently the charity also opened a new larger lab at Southampton General Hospital. Amy has run the marathon a few times for her Dad's fund and I thought I should follow her example and get off the sofa! Also research into cancer is very important to me personally due to the fact my Mum died of cancer when I was 9 and my Dad had a brain tumour removed 5 years ago.
