Story
As many of you know unfortunately I lost my father to a heart attack in 2015. He was an extremely enthusiastic sportsman and in recent years prior to his death he was a keen triathlete and competing in numerous ironmen events.
We often went for runs together, competing against each other’s times and sharing techniques. The last time I saw him alive was on my morning run on the Saturday October 3rd 2015 as he was coming back from working on the Rugby World Cup 2015. When he arrived back home at 2am from working at the Rugby World Cup on the 4th October 2015 he suffered a heart attack. I heard the suffering and the fall and quickly rush down stairs with my mum to start CPR and call for emergency services. Despite our efforts, unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.
In memory of my father and his passionate for sport I am running the London Marathon 2022 on behalf of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). The research goes identifying innovative new ways to overcome heart disease, health inequalities and supporting those in the hour of need. I would be grateful for for any support with raising money to support the BHF and save other families from having to go through the heartbreak I have endured.
I was fortunate to have knowledge on how to undertake CPR, but urge any of you to invest in the time to look into how to do this, you never know when it might come in hand. https://www.bhf.org.uk/cpr
Thank you for taking the time to come to my page and for all the support !
