Support the British Heart Foundation's London Marathon 2021 runners and help us beat heartbreak forever.

Story

What started as endorphin runs..

As I’m sure most of you know just over 5 years ago mom died suddenly of a heart attack after what we thought was the flu. This came as a huge shock to us all and amongst all the support from family and friends; what I found really helped was an endorphin run to clear my head. On what would’ve been mom’s 50th birthday I applied to run the London marathon for the British Heart Foundation, and they have accepted me!

The BHF have helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. Some BHF research I found particularly interesting is the development and testing of an algorithm that could be used to spot the signs of coronary artery disease in clinical practice and identify patients who may otherwise be missed.

Whilst I can’t pretend I don’t run as to this day I still love my endorphin runs... I am definitely not a long distance runner! But for such a good cause and after a mad 2020 stranger things have happened!

This is a fab charity and whilst I and BHF would appreciate any donations I also intend on getting as creative as poss to help raise funds (just practicing my sewing skills and creativity before I start flogging my masterpieces).

I will update you on all the charitable ideas I can formulate and ofc the running aspect of the marathon!  Thanks!!
