The RNLI have had an incredibly hard year, they have managed to carry on saving lives at sea despite Covid-19, with lifeboat volunteers still rescuing those in danger, putting their lives even more at risk, as it was impossible to isolate from other volunteers and casualties.

Unfortunately, Lifeboat days, cake sales and a lot of other fundraising opportunities have had to be cancelled due to Covid, dramatically reducing the income of the RNLI during these difficult times. The RNLI has 238 lifeboat stations and operates 444 lifeboats, with around 5,600 lifeboat volunteers (from all walks of life, not just those involved in maritime work). Crews rescue on average 22 people a day.

We have raised funds for the RNLI in the past by busking and asking for donations instead of birthday presents. However, as it has not been possible to busk or hold birthday parties this year, we would like to ask people to donate any amount (no matter how small) towards this amazing charity. In return, each day we will be uploading a musical performance.
