Story
Flossie’s own words:
“I went to Grief Encounter because my dad died. I am taking part in a Duathlon because I like helping Grief Encounter. They are friendly and do amazing trips. I am raising money so they can help more people who need them. I have enjoyed every single minute of the opportunities they have given me.”
Jess, Flossie’s mum:
Jamie, Flossie’s Dad, had been suffering with depression for many years and took his own life on 29th November 2016 when Flossie was just 4 years old. I turned to Grief Encounter for support and advice as to how best to help Flossie through this difficult time. Flossie has attended group sessions and Fun Days, as well as benefitting enormously from one to one art therapy and going on a Residential Weekend.
Flossie has now decided she would like to give something back and so is taking part in a Duathlon at the Olympic Park on 1st December to raise money for Grief Encounter. She will be running 400m, riding her bike for 800m and then running 200m. This is a big challenge for Flossie and we would really appreciate your support.
