As some of you already know my beautiful baby boy Woody was born with a large hole in his heart and required open heart surgery at only 5 months old. It was only diagnosed at 11 weeks of age and as you can imagine was absolutely terrifying. 

We were lucky enough to have Glenfield hospital practically on our doorstep and even more lucky to have Heart Link, a local charity who do so much for the hospital. 

Although it was horrific having to deal with everything, it was made that much easier by Heart Link. Without them who knows where we would be now, and, because of that we wanted to give something back. 

‘Hearty in the Park’ is a charity event to be held in Rothley at Mountsorrel Lane Park. There will be live music and entertainment, a brilliant raffle, quiz, games and other stalls. There will be food and drink available to purchase but we are also encouraging those who want to to bring blankets and a picnic.
