London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On April 22nd 2018 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon. This has always been one of my goals to achieve and has been on my ‘bucket list’ for a good 12 years!! This year I was fortunate enough to get a place through Mid Essex Hospital Trust, meaning I am able to raise money for my local hospital (and employers) in raising money for the surgical robotics.
I have always had an active lifestyle and am a regular gym go-er, as well as being part of challanges when in a gymnastics team during my time at high school. However, running (and a long way at that!) will bring a whole new challenge for me. I am a complete novice at endurance training but already I am enjoying my training and having a goal to achieve.
As many of you know, I am a Nurse at Mid Essex Hospital Trust (MEHT), I have been employed by MEHT for 13 years now - starting as a domestic, to student nurse and then to qualified nurse. I currently work on Burns ITU and am looking forward to starting a secondment to the Trigger Response Team in the new year. This year MEHT charitable funds are raising money to upgrade the robotic surgery services and purchase a state of the art surgical robot. There is significant evidence to show improved patient outcomes and advantages to patients who have benefited from the use of robotic surgery compared with conventional surgery. I look forward to help MEHT achieve there target, as well as mine and to help continue to improve patient care and experience.
Please take your time to donate to a great cause and support me in this once in a life time challenge!
Thank you xxx
