March the Month · 1 September 2018 to 30 September 2018 ·
On the 3rd July 2018, our Dad died from metastatic prostate cancer. He had lived with cancer for nearly two decades and, after a wrong diagnosis, was told his cancer had spread. By this point there was very little to help him. He last got out of bed on Christmas day 2017 and was paralysed from around March 2018 when he turned 65 and received his first of four pension payments. We spent lots of time with him during the last 7 months when he was permanently confined to bed. We had lots of ups and downs but our dad was mostly calm and accepting of what was happening and he fought long enough to meet his first Grandson. We had plenty of laughs and listened to lots of his silly stories. We wish we could just have one more.
