Story

In 2020, my Grandfather was diagnosed with a brain tumour. It rocked our family to the core: there were no obvious signs, we had no idea. We were lucky that despite everything going on with COVID-19, my Grandad was able to get the care and treatment he needed. 2 operations later, and he is on the road to recovery. However long that road may be is still a mystery to us all.

My Grandfather has been a beacon of strength throughout all of this, and has inspired me throughout the darkest of times. I now want to do something drastic to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. I was originally searching the website for inspiration when I saw the At Home Workout Challenge. They recommended a 100 mile bike ride OR 50 mile run OR 7 HIIT sessions or 7 yoga sessions over the course of the week. I decided I'm going to do them all.

Yes, that's right. 150 miles on bike (exercise bike) or foot. 14 extra sessions on top of that.

I'm doing this for you Grandad, because you inspire me every day to be a better person.

A little bit about brain tumours and Brain Tumour Research:

Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What's more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. We are building a network of experts in sustainable research at dedicated Centres of Excellence whilst influencing the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more nationally. We are the only national charity in the UK that is dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours and we are a leading voice calling for greater support and action for research into what scientists are calling the last battleground against cancer.
