Story
Hello dear friends and family,
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This September, Jess and I will be donning our tightest lycra, crossing the channel and riding over 250 miles across the northern French coast in aid of O2e!
O2e (Ordinary to Extraordinary) is a community of volunteers that support ordinary people to achieve extraordinary sporting and physical feats to improve their own lives and to improve the lives of disabled children and their families through the subsequent fundraising.
Through their fundraising effort last year, O2e donated £27,000 (TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND POUNDS(!!!)) to ELHAP. This year, ELHAP is once more one of their chosen charities and any money donated through our fundraiser will be going to ELHAP.
ELHAP supports hundreds of children, young people and adults with disabilities across North East London and Essex. Our magical adventure playground offers the opportunity for hundreds of children and young people to hang their disability at the door and be reminded of their potential rather than their limitations. This also allows their families key respite during periods which can be particularly difficult such as Saturdays and school holidays.
As you may know, local authority budgets have shrunk in recent years and as a small independent charity who are mainly local authority funded, ELHAP will be reliant on external funding if it is to carry on its work in the future. Many other local children's services over the past year have closed due to budget cuts so now is a crucial time to raise funds.
Having worked there for over a decade between us, we have seen the incredible impact ELHAP has had for families in the area and to have O2e support us is massive. ELHAP means a significant amount to both of us for many different reasons so we are looking to raise a significant amount in return.
Any of your generous donations, no matter how big or small will make a huge difference to the lives of the children, young people and adults with disabilities that ELHAP supports as well as their families.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit the page!
Lots of love,
Jess & Kelvy x
