Fair Shares as a charity does a fantastic job at supporting individuals and local communities through the exchange of skills. I'm not just saying it because I work there but because every day I see the difference that people make to each other and it really is the simple things that make a big difference. Many people in our communities are lonely, isolated, suffering from some kind of health condition and find every day activities challenging. For some they never get to go out of their house as they have little or no support. Through the time bank we are able to offer some of that support through a trip out to Gloucester Cathedral perhaps or by getting a.n.other to come and do some gardening or paint a fence. The list of things we can help with are many and to do that we need to ensure we can raise the money to carry it on.

By running this marathon I hope to raise enough money to help us keep our community transport running for another year. I know £8,000 is a lot of money but last year the minibus enabled hundreds of individuals to go on outings and I know that through some of those outings, not only did they get to see somewhere completely different but people made new friends. Friendships that make people feel a part of something again and have someone to talk to. The work we do (facilitate between all our members in their communities) makes a huge difference that improves peoples' health and well being and reduces isolation. We recognise that everyone in our communities has something to offer and can contribute in some way. Please help us to keep this going
