In April 2013, The Boom Foundation was set up and it remains the only charity in NI dedicated to supporting patients suffering from sarcoma, a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer. 50% of funds raised go to Sarcoma UK towards vital research; the rest supports those affected by sarcoma in NI.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 22nd September 2018 I will be running a half marathon in Dublin in memory of my beautiful best friend, Katherine Neill.

Aged 17, Katherine was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Thanks to the support of the Boom Foundation, she was able to complete her A-Levels while going through numerous treatments. However, Katherine lost her battle with cancer and passed away on 25th August 2016, leaving a mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

This is a small tribute to Katherine and to raise vital funds for the Boom Foundation, the only sarcoma charity in Northern Ireland. As a very unfit person, this half-marathon will prove quite a challenge so all donations and support are very welcome!!

Thank-you!
