I did it!!! Two marathons in two months!! Thank you to everyone who sponsored me online and offline too. The money is still coming in but should be easily over £500 towards the BHF children's 3D heart scanner appeal for the new children's hospital in Manchester. Any proceeds from the 'People' magazine article will also go towards the scanner appeal so I'm hoping it'll take it closer to £1,000!! Further details bout the appeal can be found at www.bhf.org.uk/mca The new Manchester Childrens Hospital will be the hospital where Mia will have her cardiology appointments once Pendlebury closes it's doors. So thank you so much everyone!!!

Mia was born in July 2001 after a normal pregnancy. Within a few hours she was diagnosed with complex heart defects - Mia had her first heart surgery at 6 days old. She's since had several operations, the last being complex open heart surgery in 2005. Mia will need more surgery in the future. She's my inspiration and the reason I started running :)

Mia will be having her appointments at the new Manchester children's hospital in the near future, so I want to do everything I can to ensure they get lots of money to fund the 3D heart scanner - Mia will directly benefit, as will hundreds of heart children in the north west area!!

I ran the Blackpool Marathon on 5th April, then the Edinburgh Marathon on 31st May. Had a really amazing time running them both and would love to do them both again in the future... so watch this space!!

If you're a parent of a heart child there is a great charity we've also involved been with, for parents of kids with heart defects. They organise lots of events in the North West and we've found them really helpful (and they're lovely people :))... http://www.heartchild.info
