BREAKING NEWS!!! Yes I cycled 300km, with temperatures peaking at 45oC and managed to raise £2,649.48. THANK YOU!! Jill
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page, now you've come this far, please stay, it's really easy to make a donation!
In October 2009 I will join a tough cycling challenge in Jordan. I will by cycling some 300km through the desert and need to raise £2,500. I've been thinking about doing this ride for many months and finally decided to register when I received an e-mail to inform me there were only 30 places remaining, I clicked submit, and then realised there was no turning back..!! My first thought was how an earth am I going to raise £2,500? That's not the only challenge... it became clear that as well as the cycle ride, a total of 4 days riding in undulating terrain, I have to be prepared for 2 different weather zones. In the Arava desert temperatures can soar up to 40oC without warning, approaching Petra may experience temperatures below freezing. There is also a possibility of rain, wind and even snow in Jordan between the months of November and April and it's recommended I take a 3-season sleeping bag!! With up to 250 babies dying every week in the UK from complications during pregnancy, their work has never been so essential for women and babies nationwide. I’m sure with your help I will achieve my target. So, please give what you can afford to this worthy cause which will be gratefully received.Thank you so much.
