Met SECC 1918 - 2018 Remembrance Tour. · 10 September 2018

Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, we continue to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. We know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, we help to enable the Forces family to thrive.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

As part of the Met Police South East Cycling Club we are marking 100 Year’s since the end of World War One with a cycling tour taking in sites of huge human loss through France and Belgium. We will also lay a wreath at the Menin Gate, Ypres, as a token of thanks to those who fought in that war while thinking of combatants and their families on all sides in current conflicts.

The SSAFA has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. In 2017, their staff and team of volunteers supported over 73,227 people, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts. For every £1 that you donate to SSAFA, 89p will go directly to help their beneficiaries.
