Story

My Best Friend Mick Goodfellow has been fighting a terminal cancer diagnosis for the last 12 months. He and his amazing "rock" of a wife Anne and daughters Chloe and Shannon have shown such bravery through such a tough situation.

Mick's attitude and character have been unbelievably positive, he's just got on with life, not felt sorry for himself and tried to have as much fun as possible. It's been very tough for him and his family but they've been amazing and they have the attitude of "let's make as many happy memories as we can".

We're all very proud of them and I wanted to do something positive to honour and recognise their brave fight on behalf of all their friends. The Marathon is something I've always wanted to do but never had the drive or reason, so I thought if they can go through the last 12 months with such dignity and positivity there's no reason why I can't get through the training and complete the marathon!!

Any of you who know me well know this body ain't built for running!

The training is really tough and I've got a long way to go to get ready for the start line - but it's nothing compared to what Mick's gone through over the last year. I'll get there I'm sure and with your support we can hopefully make a good donation to the brilliant charity "The Institute of Cancer research".

I would really appreciate any donation and want to thank you in advance.

Thanks for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge!

My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity.
