We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

Hi everyone!

I feel slightly crazy, but I've committed to running my first ever marathon – the London Marathon in 2019.

I'm extremely excited to go the full distance, and I'm running for the RNLI – the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Since being a young boy, I've been fascinated by lifeboats, and the people that go out in all weathers to save those in danger – all as volunteers.

The RNLI is an emergency service just like the police or fire service with one difference – they rely entirely on donations from people like you.

Don't live near the sea? The busiest lifeboat station in the UK is the one in London on the Thames – if you were ever in trouble in the Thames, the RNLI would be the ones you'd see first, at any time of day or night. And they'd all be volunteers, there to save you without being paid a penny.

My goal is to raise £2,300 for the RNLI – so if you can spare anything I'd hugely appreciate your donation. Let's smash through that target!

Much love,

James

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
