Story

Some time in July 2020 a team of 6 from St. James's Place will set out to swim the 21-miles from England to France in relay. Preparation will take us over a year and has already started with early morning open water swims right through the winter as part of the routine to acclimatise to the cold water. And no, we don't wear wetsuits - Channel Swimming Association dress code stipulates 'one swimming costume, one swimming hat and one pair of goggles'.

7 June 2021 Update!

Swim now complete! But rather than a team of 6, we eventually got out there on Sunday 6th June 2021, some significant time after the originally planned summer of 2020, with a reduced team of 3 swimmers. Very happy to say we successfully made it to Cap Gris in France in 13hrs 05mins. Thank you all for your generous contributions to this fantastic cause.

The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation does fantastic work for a range of charities with the main focus on disadvantaged children and young people. The Charitable Foundation also supports the Hospice Movement and people of all ages with cancer.
