Gaming 2 Cure: In memory of Camo

As some of you may know, I started a clan way back in the day called JIPO. Over the years we have had a number of members from all over the world, and have kept a close bond throughout, like a family. One much loved member of our group, our family, was Camo.
Camo was the young son of another member, Jay, and despite his very young age, Camo was on playing games with all of us older lads pretty much every day for years. We all wanted him to be one of the guys, because sadly, Camo had cancer. Not that you would ever have thought that, considering he was always laughing and giggling away. Camo had an amazing way of ALWAYS being such a happy, friendly lad. In fact, I sincerely dont think I have ever met a braver, stronger person in my life. Camo even had his xbox on the ward with him at hospital sometimes, and would be having treatment at the very same time as playing the original MW2 with us lads. We were and will always be in awe of how special Camo was. He was our rock, and we all loved him dearly. We always will.
Sadly, on 18th October 2012, Camo passed away. He was 9 years old. To say it hurt would be an understatement. Looking back, it is so clear how important those games must have been. The jokes and fun we had on the xbox together were hopefully a bit of an escape, a bit of fun and a break from the very sad reality of the situation. I hope Jay knows how much I cherish the memories and hope that in some small way, we helped.
So, that brings me to this. 12 hours of gaming, hoping to raise a few quid for Children with Cancer UK, and their Game 2 Cure cause. I have experienced first hand how something as trivial as a new game for a kid to play is a release, a distraction from the pain of what they are dealing with. That game can put a smile on the face of a child going through the worst thing in the world, and as a parent now myself to an amazing 5 year old daughter, the thought of giving a child something to smile about in the worst of times feels even more important to me now.
I invite you to join me, on Friday the 25th of November, for a 12 hour gaming session that I will be streaming live on https://twitch.tv/jimmyballbags from 6pm til 6am (GMT) to have some laughs, play some games and hopefully, raise some money for a cause very close to my heart. Camo's Dad Jay will be joining me for parts of the stream, as well as some old faces, and new ones, from our JIPO family. If you can donate anything at all, it would be very, very much appreciated. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you in chat for the stream. We love you Camo, you are deeply missed x
