Last year 2 of my friends rode best part of 400 miles across Belgium and Holland for the charity Help For Heroes, I decided to visit for the last day to welcome them across the finishing line on what would be a truly amazing achievement.

I never anticipated the emotions and awe I was about to feel, the war graves were vast and it was hard to believe the ultimate sacrifice that was made by thousands of young men in the name of peace and freedom.

I have an opportunity to raise money for this wonderful charity that helps so many of our heroes. On June 11th I am joining many committed cyclists of all experiences, in the 2018 Big Battle Bike Ride across France and Belgium including battlefields of the Somme. In all, the distance is around 310 miles over 5 days, your thoughts and encouragement will be valued as much as your donations.

The big news for 2018 is this route features hills - lots of them including the infamous Vimy Ridge on route to Neuve Chappelle and Lille.

We have a big target this year to hit - £2750 per person so that's £11,000 between the four of us - so all donations, however big or small, are very welcome.
