Story
Following on from his `End to End` 900 mile bike ride from Landsend to John O’ Groats with his longstanding friend Dick Beechener, at the age of 72 Jim Wilding is back for more. (Along with his 10 year old replacement hip).
He is now due to take on the streets of London on April 13 for the 2014 London Marathon. Jim is running the marathon to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation. This is a charity close to Jim’s heart, as back in 1994 he first ran the London Marathon with his close friend and running partner David Williams. Sadly David died of a heart attack at the age of 42 the following year and Jim has decided to run the marathon in his memory. David ran several marathons raising money for various charities, he was also a member of Hadleigh Hares and keen supporter of Hadleigh United.
His `task master` and `co runner` now is his daughter Kate Brett. Jim is in preparation for the 26 miles over the coming months and is looking for sponsorship for his chosen charity The British Heart Foundation.
