Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

“I will be running the London Marathon on the 13 April 2014 in memory of my friend, my hero, my Dad.

My Dad, Nigel Roy Duffin, tragically died in a road accident while cycling on his bicycle on the 14 April 2013. He was a wonderful husband and soul-mate, fantastic father and an irreplaceable friend.

The weekend of the London Marathon will mark the one year anniversary of his death, and I am running in his memory.

I will be supporting Spinal Research (www.spinal-research.org), a charity my Dad would have undoubtedly required support from had he survived his spinal injury. Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop reliable treatments for paralysis caused by neck and back injuries. The money I raise will go towards helping those who survive accidents similar to my Dad’s, and have to adapt to life living with the consequences of a spinal injury.

I would greatly appreciate any donations and thank you in advance for supporting my marathon challenge.

See you at the finish line…..

James Henry Duffin”
