As the festive season draws closer, you will all be preoccupied with buying a turkey, adorning your trees and planning Santa’s forthcoming visit. While all of you will be racing about town organising the big day, the Jivraj family will be doing some preparing of a less conventional nature…

 

FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance www.akdn.org/focus. is an international emergency response agency that provides relief and support during, and following, natural and manmade disasters. The charity was set up in 1994 as an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network www.akdn.org. Both work to improve opportunities and living conditions for those in need in the developing world, enabling sustainable and long-term development.   

 

Every year, a new challenge is proposed by FOCUS. In the past, initiatives such as Hike4Life successfully raised over half a million dollars for the cause, when participants climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

 

This year, the challenge will take place on two wheels rather than two legs and the Jivraj family are getting involved!!

 

We have all pledged to cycle from Mumbai to Goa, a distance of no less than 515 km over a period of 6 days from 28th December to 4th January. That is an average of just under 85 km per day!  

 

As I am sure you all know, this will be no easy feat for us Jivrajs, especially over the festive season and New Years Eve! So we appeal to both your humanity and your sense of humour to sponsor us.
