We are getting together a team of people, of extremely varied ability, to cycle the first stage of the Tour de France in Yorkshire. The whole stage is around 118 very 'hilly' miles, which we hope to complete in one day. The money we are raising is for the Juvenile Diabetes Resarch Foundation to help find a cure to Type 1 Diabetes.

This devastating disease strikes completely out of the blue mostly in children between the age of 2 and 25. It is currently incurable. You never expect your children to get this disease and in our case we have two boys who have been struck with it, despite never having seen it in either side of their parents' families.

Until we find a cure, these children are stuck with a life of daily injections and blood tests and the expectation of a shortened life, with many possible complications.

Life will never be the same again for these children (or their parents) UNTIL WE FIND A CURE - please help if you can - thank you.
