Lake District Triple Challenge · 15 July 2023

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

In July, I'm doing the Lake District Triple Challenge, as part of a team of Barclays colleagues.

I'll be raising money our team chosen charity Centrepoint, who provide housing and support for young people regionally in London, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East and through partnerships all over the UK.  They aim to give homeless young people a future and we want to end youth homelessness by 2037.  You can find out more about this great charity here: https://centrepoint.org.uk/about-us/

The Lake District Triple Challenge is over one day and involves:

•    Climbing to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston – 10km, 803m – approx. 3-4 hours.

•    Mountain biking through Grizedale Forest, one of the Lake District's most famous mountain biking areas, including the lung-pumping ascent of the hill into the forest – 12km – approx. 2 hours.

•    Kayaking around Coniston Water – 1.5km – approx. 1.5 hours.

In addition, Barclays will 100% match my total donations (up to £1,000).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
