Run to the Beat 2013 · 8 September 2013 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

I'm running London's largest half marathon, Run to the Beat, on 8 September for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my father Alan who died unexpectedly from Ischemic Heart Disease in June aged 69.

Heart Disease is the world's biggest killer and, as in my father's case, it can remain undetected for years. It's therefore vital that funds continue to be raised for research.

So despite my lack of fitness (see profile photo for only known photographic evidence of sporting activity in the last ten years), and the possibility of running during a heat wave, I'll be donning my trainers come September. If anyone wants to sponsor me, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
