Wirral Hospice St John's provides specialist palliative care for the Wirral. It costs up to £7m a year to run the Hospice, which is at no charge to our patients. This is all thanks to the loyal support and commitment of our supporters who do so much to help raise funds for our charity's work.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi everyone!.

As many of you's may know my uncle Steven sadly passed away from us in 2012 from stomach and bowel cancer. I can still remember my Nanna coming to see me in floods of tears after she had the devastating phone call. Steven was a very popular man, loved being out with his family, friends and most of all his wife Kath who he adored very much!. He was a blue nose (Everton fan), local football coach and a true rugby fan!. He followed Wigan often taking Kath to watch the games. So in honour of my Uncle Steven i am taking part in this run, to help raise money for the hospice that looked after him in his final few months. I can't thank the staff enough for the love and support they gave to Steven, Kath and other family relatives.

Stevens funeral was a beautiful service, the amount of people that showed up was mind blowing, me made realise how loved he was and how much he will be missed! All i wanted to do was give my Great Grandpa (Steven's Dad) a hug and tell him everything will be ok. I've said all last year that i'm going to run and make him proud so I've finally confirmed my place, no going back now!!

More devastating news hit our family shortly after Stevens funeral... Mark Kirby Steven's stepson was diagnosed with a Brain tumour in December 2012 and passed away in November 2014. I can't imagine the pain Kath went through, she's one strong lady!

Finally there's one thing that i wish for and that's for my Great Grandpa to be at the finishing line, so anyone who knows Ken Webb will you tell him.. 'Jo-Anna expects to see you at the end!'
