I'm taking part in a challenging 5 day trek against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Sahara Desert in order raise funds for Alzheimer's Society. 

From flat desert floor scattered with ancient fossils , to perfect wind-blown sand-dunes, this trek is diverse and demanding. Accompanied by Berber guides and a small caravan of camels, I'm looking forward to the camping under the stars and enjoying the evening camp fires.  

My training plan is well underway: Positive = 21 lb weight loss since the beginning of January, Negative = Knee injury requiring weekly physio.
