On July 29th this year I am planning to leave Lands End and cycle the 1575km to John O'Groats in just 10 days, an average of 100 road miles (160km) a day, no easy task for someone who is more used to mountain biking with regular stops for tea and cake! I am aiming to raise £2000 in sponsorship for Marie Curie.

I have my own reasons for wanting to support Marie Curie, but cancer has touched so many peoples lives, that I am sure that you too have your own reasons for wanting to give. In addition Marie Curie Cancer Care in a charity supported by my employers Klondyke / Strikes Garden Centres. I am aiming to raise a total of £2000, but Klondyke / Strikes have kindly offered to donate £1000 of this, if I can raise the first £1000 myself. JustGiving sends your donation straight to Marie Curie Cancer Care and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I understand that everyone has their own charities that they support, and other financial commitments, but if you can I hope you'll join me in supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care, every £20 raised will provide 1 hour of valuable nursing care.

Marie Curie Cancer Care have 2,000 nurses and 9 hospices in the UK, they provide care to terminally ill people in their own homes, or in their hospices, while offering support to their families. They can only continue to do this through the generosity of people like yourselves who choose to give and support their work.
