Story

On Sunday 04th October, 2020, I will be running my first full Marathon, and I've chosen to do this in memory of an incredible friend, who in August, sadly lost his battle with cancer.

Simon was one of the most positive people I have ever known. His kind, caring, supportive and funny nature truly personified what it means to be a great friend.

In 2020, I'd set myself the challenge of running my first official half and full marathon. On 01st March, I completed the London Half Marathon, and was gearing up to complete my first full Marathon in the summer. But, understandably, that was cancelled. Then, I managed to secure a place in the London Virtual Marathon.

It's going to be strange without the crowds and marked out route, but, when it gets tough, I will have Simon, Joy and their young son firmly in my mind. Every step of Simon's battle, you all amazed me, and Joy - you continue to do so, x

I can already hear Simon making some funny sarcastic comment, telling me to just get on with it. So my friend, I will!

If you would like to sponsor me, all donations will go to The Butterfly Hospice Trust. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and families facing a life limiting illness by providing choice, care and support in a Hospice setting. And, who supported Simon and Joy.

Thank you all,

Jo, x
