Hi All

Jo Nichols, David Emery and Simon March will be participating in the Guernsey half marathon this year. We have decided to raise money for the Little Black Dog Guernsey Rescue and Adoption charity.

We wanted to choose a charity that was close to one of us.  The Little Black Dog means an awful lot to Jo and her family. Jo’s family adopted Copper in 2019 through the Little Black Dog Guernsey Rescue and Adoption charity after they came home from their last family holiday. With going into lockdown just a few months later, Copper brought so much joy and companionship to Jo’s parents while they were shielding at home without the family around. Copper has also been a huge comfort to Jo and her family since losing her Dad in 2020, and they would be lost without him! It’s safe to say Copper is enjoying a comfortable life with Jo’s family, and they are so pleased they could rescue him and give him the loving home he deserves. Jo’s Dad adored Copper, and he’d be so pleased to see any money raised for this wonderful charity - if you can donate anything at all we should be so grateful!

We are a Guernsey registered charity who raise funds to rescue abandoned dogs in Spain and find suitable homes for them in Guernsey. We currently work in conjunction with SCAN who are the Society for the Care of Animals in Need in Spain and together, we ensure that everything is taken care of to make the adoption process a straight forward procedure, once all our own formalities are met successfully.
Whilst a small adoption fee is charged to adopt these dogs, this never covers all the necessary costs involved. We therefore work continuously to raise much needed funds to support this adoption process and to save as many of these poor dogs lives that we can. Many suffer desperate lives of extreme cruelty or abandonment and have never known what it feels like to be loved.  Every penny raised or donated goes to saving these dogs and finding them new forever loving homes so all donations are truly appreciated.
