PFP works with people in the developing world to make educational films in local languages, from short documentaries to full-length dramas on health, welfare, environment and community development. We aim to provide information, to give people a voice and enable local filmmakers to do the same.

Story

On Saturday 11 May Neil and I are cycling from Ilminster and visiting 10+ parishes to raise money for a locally based charity Purple Field Productions.  PFP works with, and for, people in developing countries to make films in the local language for educational and humanitarian purposes.

To celebrate the 10 anniversary of PFP we are undertaking this ‘trek’ to raise money for a Mobile Film Festival for Malawi.  The Festival will show films for rural communities by employing a pedal powered Rucksack Cinema to overcome the problems from lack of electricity and fuel.  The films will address the vital issues in relation to HIV and AIDS, food sustainability and the environment.
