Eating disorders cause so much distress in people's lives. They stop you from socialising, making friends and is on your mind every waking moment and effect every part of your life. Not only does it negatively affect your life socially, it also affects your physical health and with anorexia having the highest death rate of all mental illnesses, it is something we need to take seriously.

I have been interested in Eating Disorders since seeing the very sad Karen Carpenter story when I was younger. Her death could have been prevented had we known more about it at the time and had she been given the support she needed. I don't want to see anymore deaths from Eating disorders and fully support the fantastic work of Beat! I am a Campaigns Volunteer and also a Research and Policy advisor Volunteer for them and am looking forward to going to Westminster to lobby for Access and Waiting times to be extended to adults and not just children.

One of the things that I feel is crucial for recovery of an Eating disorder is to love yourself and take time out for yourself for Self-Care. What better way to do this than to take some time out of your busy life schedule and come and relax with some pampering! 

So I am hosting a Pamper Night where we can relax and unwind, have some treatments and some cake and raise some much needed funds for Beat.
