Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The last time I wrote a 'just giving' page I was in the depths of grief after loosing dad to a heart attack while he was out one night and which he never came home from.  Then a year later lost mam to pancreatic cancer after diagnosis of one week. The grief never goes away 'you simply get used to living with it'  and from it you learn to cherish the life you are blessed to live, with the people who mean the most to you 'Family' - such a precious bunch of people!!  My understanding of this word has changed slightly since I have lost & loved & see my own family flourish and grow - my precious Chris, Abbie & Ryan.  Your family are a mixture of people who you choose and who choose you... 

Johnny & Mary lived a life of love, friendship & laughter which is now their legacy to us their 'family'.  My life is held together by the foundations which my precious mam brought to my everyday... When she slipped away from us and we said our goodbyes I realised that this was part of her life, which would be remembered by us all forever.  Dignity plays a massive part in saying goodbye, for everyone.  We all deserve the love, support, care, warmth and understanding as our last days approach. 

So I dedicate my Trek across the Costa Rica Rainforrest & Volcanoes to, 'Family' - Family means: No one gets left behind or forgotten about.  They are the people who quietly love you and are there for you during the darkest and brightest of days.  They belong to you and hold a piece of your heart and tell you without even speaking a word - I love you......,    and to all of the glorious people we have loved & lost.  

' There's no end to grief that's how we know there's no end to love - My love goes to all the people who have ever felt the pain of losing someone you love'

Before I go I want to mention two lovely, lovely men - my lovely uncle Norman who we lost too quickly in November 2015 and our dear friend Keith Howe who spent only a few hours in Marie Curie in October 2016 with his lovely wife and two daughters at his side.
