Brompton Bath to Chickenshed Challenge · 12 September 2019

35 of our wonderful supporters will cycle from Bath to Chickenshed (150 miles) on Bromptons as part of our 45th birthday. With Will Butler-Adams (Brompton) and Josh Berger CBE, (ChickenshedWarner Bros/BFI).

Story

I have been involved with Chickenshed K&C since its inception in 2010.  As the committee we have completed many fund raisers but felt we needed to do something new other than the standard dinner and auction.  Now 6 weeks away from the cycle I am slightly regretting that decision - it is the middle of the summer holidays, I have done very little training, not many windows of opportunity left according to the training plan, too many G&Ts still left to enjoy along with the demands of the kids and a husband and getting them back to school or work.  The realisation that the Bath to London cycle may have been challenging enough ....  but bring on the folding Brompton bike with its 16 inch diameter wheels .... and to add to it I won't have ridden one till I am introduced to my new wheels on the 12 September, the night before the ride.

So I am rather hoping that the support of my family and friends will help me get there.  I need to raise at least £1,900 but hope to raise as much as I can, so please be as generous as you can ...

Your donations will keep me peddling!

I'll keep you updated as I can

What your support would achieve:

£9 would subsidise a place for a disadvantaged young person for a week.

£21 would give one-to-one specialist support for children with additional needs.

£127 would help provide wheelchair-accessible transport for a young person.

£350 would help offer counselling to students in difficult personal circumstances.

£1,000 would help provide a one-day inclusive performing arts workshop for a school in a deprived area.

£5,000 would help to sponsor a full-time paid trainee for three months, empowering them to mentor younger generations in the inclusive performing arts method and enabling them to take their first steps in employment.

£10,000 would sponsor four disadvantaged young people who may have been excluded from mainstream education to study on one of our inclusive accredited higher education courses.

"Chickenshed is probably the most important theatre company in the world."   (David Walliams)
