Martlets provided incredible care not only for Ghita but also for her family. I haven't run for nearly two decades but was inspired by watching my son in the Brighton half marathon mini miles yesterday - so he'll be running the mini mile in marathon weekend and I'll be doing the 10K. Signing up with only 48 days to go so I'd better get off this computer and get my trainers on...
Thanks SO much everyone for your donations and support. I've found myself thinking about Ghita a lot as I've been out running, and about what a gift it is to be able to run and, even more, to see my kids growing up - and really that's the thing that's so great about Martlets, that if the unbearable happens, they'll be there for you, not only providing the medical care but also the counselling for you and your family and a room where the people you love can sleep in a bed next to you and family life can go on as best it possibly could.
I managed about 8K on Saturday but am still creaking now (mid way through Tuesday) so your generosity and kind comments really are keeping me going!
