I have always wanted to do a tandem sky dive and now I have the chance to do this and also raise money for a fantastic charity.
The charity itself is something my boss, Tom and his wife Millie are passionate about as his daughter Tabby is one of the lucky ones in that she is very bright, but her deafness remains a disability to her learning.
The DCS works to encourage deaf children to socialise together and for parents of deaf children to fully understand the disability and to be aware of the support they can get. The DCS also provides a vital link between the families and the local authority support teams, which are of course massively underfunded and therefore have limited resources: the DCS for example has donated tablets to Teachers of the Deaf as a learning aid for deaf children.
I will be strapped to someone who controls the flight, meaning I have nothing to do nothing except fall. It’s from 10,000 feet of which 30 seconds is freefall and the rest under canopy.
The event takes place on Sunday 20th September at Redlands Airfield, 2 miles from Junction 15 of the M4 motorway in Wanborough Wiltshire, so feel free to pop down and support me.
Any donation is greatly appreciated
Thank you so much & wish me luck
Jo :-)
