Story

Hi There!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm going to be running (well probably a mixture of walking and possibly the odd break out into a jog) in the Adidas 5k Women's challenge in Hyde Park on Sunday 6 September.  I'm running with my colleagues from school - Sue (head teacher) and Jan (deputy head) - and we're raising money for the charity African Revival.  Through them we are linked to a school in Kaladima in Uganda and your money will help provide much-needed resources for this school, and others like it.  Just imagine a school where the classes have 100 children in them - with just one teacher per class - no TAs or other help like that - children sitting 3 or 4 to a desk (if indeed they have desks) - and with very little in the way of resources.  Well you can help these schools.  If you can sponsor me for £1 a kilometre and I can get 10 people to sponsor me, then that would make my £50 target - and believe me, that £50 would go a long way in Uganda!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

UPDATE! 06/09/09

Done it!!! Thousands of women there - great atmosphere - crossed start line at 11.30, crossed finishing line at 12.30 - jogged part of the last K - but various problems relating to women meant this was a bit tricky!!!!????!!! (see Becky's comment under donations for one of them).

Anyway - thanks to everyone who has sponsored me..... hope to do it again next year.

AND IF YOU'RE VISITING THIS PAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME - it's still not too late to donate!!

Cheers!
